Dr. John Dudgeon (1837~1901), a British physician who lived almost 40 years in China, undertook roles as a doctor, surgeon, translator of books and papers, and medical missionary.

Through Dr. Dudgeon’s decades in China he wrote and published a number of papers among which was Beverages of the Chinese; Kung-Fu, or Tauist (Taoist) Medical Gymnastics (1895) which is acknowledged as a monumental work on predominately Taoist approaches to health, qigong, seasonal exercises and natural medical curative approaches that he had researched while at Taoist temples and through personal studies with monks and Traditional Chinese Medicine physicians. This edition is Dr. Dudgeon’s complete work as was first published in 1895, Tientsin, China. Some of the topics included are: Taoist Medical Gymnastics, Kung-Fu for the Four Seasons, The Five Animals, Curative Teas & Wines, Massage, The Eight Ornamental Sections, Qigong, Medicinal Foods, Acquiring the Essences of the Sun and Moon, and so much more.
